Botox has traditionally been used successfully in ophthalmology for years to treat conditions which cause spasm of eyelids. Botox, more recently, has been FDA approved for cosmetic reduction of certain facial wrinkles.

Treatment includes injection of botox in several locations around the eyes. Effects can be seen within a few days and usually last for approximately 6 months. Our physicians usually utilize Botox to reduce wrinkles in the upper face, and facial fillers such as Restylane to reduce wrinkles in the lower face. We find that this gives a better result with a more natural appearance.
